Becky asks: She had to have her wisdom teeth removed and ended up being on an all mashed potato diet for a few days. During that time, she felt very healthy and fast and ended up losing a bit of weight that week as well. She has heard of people going on a “potato fast” and is wondering what you think about it and the research? It seems frugal and healthy… especially considering her Irish ancestry.

Heather asks: She recently got her first “office job” in many years (cubicles, dirty electricity, EMF, wifi) and is looking for guidance.     I've done several potato hacks or what I call starch resets. I've clients lose a lot of weight quickly doing a starch reset. I've blogged about my experiences with potato hacks.

    But there is another potato diet out there that is really interesting.

    He lost weight and improved his health eating 20 potatoes a day. See that is where a lot of people that try to do a potato hack mess it up. They eat too few potatoes. The secret is…the more potatoes you eat the more weight you lose. It is not a starvation diet.

    Potatoes are extremely nutritious. They have a lot of Vitamin C. So if a sailor had potatoes on board he would not get scurvy. Its when the potatoes run out and they turn to the grains that they develop scurvy. White potatoes also have complete protein.

    The score a 109 on the amino acid score. They are 7% protein. 1 potato supplies 48% of the Vitamin C one needs. They score a 52 on completeness score which is really good.
