Recently, Dr. Joseph Mercola, who I interviewed in the episode “Killing Fat Cells, Fixing Mitochondria, Growing Superfoods & More“, wrote to me and told me about some guy named Dr. Christopher Shade, who Dr. Mercola mentioned was one of the more brilliant minds out there when it comes to neuroinflammation, toxicity, metals such as mercury, and unique delivery mechanisms for getting nutrients into your body, including something called “liposomal delivery”.

So I reached out to Dr. Shade and he graciously agreed to come onto the show.

Who is this guy?

Dr. Shade obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees from Lehigh University in environmental and aqueous chemistry. Dr. Shade earned a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois where he studied the environmental and analytical chemistries of mercury as well as advanced aquatic chemistry. During his Ph.D. work, Dr. Shade patented analytical technology for mercury speciation analysis and later founded a company called “Quicksilver Scientific” that now commercializes this technology.

Shortly after starting Quicksilver Scientific, Dr. Shade turned his focus to the human aspects of mercury exposure, toxicity and the human detoxification system. He has since developed specific clinical analytical techniques for measuring mercury exposure and a system of products to remove metallic and organic toxins by upregulation of innate detoxification biochemistry. His current focus is at the intersection of neuroinflammatory issues, immune dysregulation, toxicity, and infection – specifically how to peel away the layers of overlapping dysfunction in the sick individual until you get to a point at which the system rights itself.

During our discussion, you'll discover:

-Why Chris decided not to be an organic farmer and instead began studying mercury and the human detox system…[6:40]

-Aside from liver, kidneys, skin, the other three detox mechanisms and organs in the body that get underplayed…[12:00]

-The unique clinical analytical techniques Chris developed, and why he uses something called “mercury speciation”…[23:00 & 29:30]

-Why most tests for mercury give a “false negative”…[30:00]

-The best ways to get rid of mercury in the body…[32:30]

-How to make your own liposomal delivery mechanism at home…[44:35]

-How Chris gets a sick individual to “right themselves”…[50:00]

-A simple trick to make compounds like THC and CBD more absorbable…[63:45]

-And much more!

am I reading this correct ? 500 US DOLLAR for 20 minutes of your time on SKYPE ?

another GOD COMPLEX person that thinks his time is worth diamonds & gold…

    1. I spent years and years of time and money on my education and research. I can guarantee that I get people results, but I have to value my time somewhat! I hope you understand.

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for the effort you put into each podcast. I’d like to re-ask a question posted earlier and ask for a reply.

    Ben,

I listened to the podcast and I am intrigued about removing toxins from my body. I looked at the website and it is very pricey. If I am going to do what Dr. suggests it will cost hundreds of dollars.

Is there a barebones starter kit for average working people?

    Thank you,

    Andrew

Yeaahh. Great info. I was hoping that he’d describe how to heal the kidneys but no mention. In one of his videos on his site he briefly mentions that the kidney damage would have to be reversed to enable them to detox using his protocols. So apparently this damage (from metals) can be repaired and there’s hope. Did he tell you how to go about that?

    1. Horatio says:

Found his answers to that. For those interested watch his Pre-tox presentation.

    Hi Ben,

    Side question first:

When is GreenfieldFitnessSystems coming to Europe? You were talking about it once.

The brain toxicity and brain fog in the podcast caught my attention. I have this problem, sometimes coffee won’t help mental clarity at all, I still have a brain fog. I’ve started taking ginseng and ashwaghanda (some Ginko B too). It’s helping a little but hasn’t solved it. Is there anything else I might try??? I’ve thought about CBD but ordering to Europe is risky and don’t know any good places to order from here. So, anything else I might try?

    Thanks

    1. Any products we handle shipping for, we ship to Europe. If we don't handle shipping on the product then we unfortunately can't control it. In terms of brain fog, I would look at why you are getting brain fog in the first place and solve the cause. We can do this if you go to <a href="https://greenfieldfitnesssystems.com/ben” target=”_blank”>www.greenfieldfitnesssystems.com/ben and choose 20 or 60 minutes and we'll get you scheduled for a Skype consult and we'll go into detail there. This was another really interesting episode! One thing that I was going to ask about and has been mentioned briefly but wasn’t asked during the interview is whether or not Dr. Shade recommends removal of amalgam based fillings before trying to do any of his suggested mercury detox protocols?

    Thanks!

Thumbs up for this great podcast! Not geeky at all, so don’t fear to have another few ones running in the same style :). I was wondering whether trying a DIY detox cure of let’s say one week with charcoal, clay and glutathione (all agents Dr. Shade mentioned) would have a noticeable impact? And if so, do I expect to feel anything during or after? Just asking as in case I’d need to consider changing desktop somewhere near the restroom… Many thanks for sharing all your valuable knowledge, much appreciated! Regards from Switzerland

  8. Remy says:

Any chance Dr Shade would like to offer your devoted listeners a coupon code to try his hemp oil? Thanks!

  9. chad says:

Ben – it wasn’t clear if the most bio-available form of CBD was vape or something else (inhaler?) Was the product referenced by Dr. Shade available for public purchase?

    Thanks – Chad

  10. Monica says:

Please provide a recipe for making liposomal turmeric, with either the magic butter maker, vitamix, ultrasonic machine. I didn’t see a turmeric supplement on the quicksilver website and would like to make my own, even though Dr. Shade explains that it would be as good as a product developed in the lab. Thank you!

I have been a fan of Chris Shade for sometime. I love his new supplement, “The One.” I get a ton of energy with that one.

  13. Tom says:

So I’ve heard podcast after podcast about how one should remove mercury amalgams ASAP and after speaking to my dentist about this (who’s a personal friend), he tells me there is no real evidence that it’s worth the effort. He claims if that was true, we would see dentists (who deal with mercury in the office on a weekly basis), having all kinds of issues. I’m interested in seeing if anyone has ideas on how to measure the toxicity of mercury amalgams so I can prove to myself what the levels are. Are there dentists out there that you can visit that would do this for you? Interested in hearing what folks think about this topic and what resources are out there to convince dentists that think the way mine thinks. Thanks in advance for any comments.

    1. Hey Tom, here's a response from Dr Minkoff: It is good to remove mercury fillings but only by a certified dentist who has the equipment and know how to do it. For a referal go to <a href="http://www.iaomt.com” target=”_blank”>www.iaomt.com. Dentists have by study high levels of mercury in their pineal glands, they have among the highest suicide rate of any profession, and relatively higher cancer rates. When a denstist removes the mercury from your mouth he can't throw it in the garbage. Its is a biohazard. Its not safe outside of the mouth and certainly not safe inside. Per epa studies, putting 1 filling in a 10 acre lake would create toxic levels of mercury in fish and the lake would be labeled not fish there.
There are thousands of scientific reports published that show this.
The ada got kick backs from the mercury manufacturers and so kept this under wraps. Its a crime to use to.

Ben, you’re linking to Magical Butter machines on Amazon, they are knock-offs of the real thing. If you go to their website you’ll see that they have a message that the only place that they sell is on their website, not on Amazon. Therefore any fake Magical Butter Machines purchased from Amazon have no warranty. Magical Butter has an affiliate program too :)

I’m looking forward to this interview. Thank you so much for sharing your awesomely obsessive quest for knowledge with us. I truly appreciate it.

  15. LDeaton says:

What are your thoughts on Chris Shade’s system for detox vs Dr. Pompa’s TCD program? I’m getting ready to have 6 mercury amalgams removed and a root canal redone (by a biological dentist), plus work on Lyme disease and any other biotoxins that are lurking in my body. I’ve been researching both of these individual’s protocols and would love to hear your thoughts on pros and cons of each, and which protocol you think would bring the most success for an individual who has multiple problems but is totally dedicated to getting well. Thanks!

    1. I can't say exactly which one would be perfect for you, but I would imagine either would work…I just wanted to present the concept of liposomal options vs. zeolite based options…
