How To Fight Food Cravings

Tobey says: He's from Seattle and he's a firefighter. Being in shape is important to the job, for injury prevention, and potentially for his life. 1. Susan says:

I have a question about why you are recommending the AquaTru water filtration system when it uses RO technology. The other website you recommend, Greenfield water systems, presents a good argument as to why RO systems are not a good choice. I must be missing something. Would you please explain or direct me to the explanation on your website? I am currently looking for a water filtration system for our apartment. Thank you very much for any clarification and insight you can provide.

  2. Bronson says:

In regards to countertop water filtration, how do the Berkey Filters compare? I have heard you mention them in the past but it’s not making its way into the discussion. Thanks!

    1. They are ok, but I recommend the Aquatru over them. You will find a link above.

      1. Samuel Colosimo says:

Hey Ben, Aquatru use Tritan plastic which is claimed to be safe, but this article suggests otherwise https://www.motherjones.com/environment/2014/03/tritan-certichem-eastman-bpa-free-plastic-safe/

  3. Julia says:

P.S. Here is one of the sources that mentions adrenomedullin in that Blue Zone and the benefits of low levels:

  4. Julia says:

    Hi Ben,

In this podcast you mentioned that the centenarians in Italy had high levels of adrenomedullin, but from every other article I’ve read regarding this specific Blue Zone, it is reported that they had very LOW levels, which contributed to their longevity. I believe the article you sourced from NYTimes doesn’t specify, but simply says that they are equal to that of a teenager.

Just wanted to make note of that…

    Thanks!

  5. TSV says:

I purchased the AquaTru filter and really like it! I’d like to use pink sea salt to add minerals back in, and wanted to see what your recommendation is in terms of how many teaspoons to add per ounce of water. Thanks!

  6. kem johnson says:

Sodium chloride will be pretty unlikely to be banned… it’s also called table salt. $12 a bottle for salt tablets sounds like a rip off.

  7. tedbennet says:

    Awesome show as usual..

So i listened to that Z-health podcast from 2013…Now that is fascinating stuff.

Maybe a redux episode is in order?

    Thanks, Ben. love you.

  8. Dalles says:

    Hey Ben,

with respect to exposing the water to sunlight, have you heard or seen anything about blue, solarized water before?

    Science or woo woo?

    Cheers mate,

ps I’m going to miss the contrast between your twang and Rachel’s sweet accent for the next 10 days.

    1. I have not! This would be a good one to call into the podcast! Go to speakpipe.com/bengreenfield and try keep it under 45 seconds.

  9. Hey Ben,

Do you mind sharing the article on the genes affecting caffeine metabolism? I’ve only seen the one that says if one is a slow or fast caffeine metabolizer. However, you mentioned that they have found some other snp’s that we can look at on the podcast.

    Thanks,

    Mehmet
