My boys and I went foraging in the forest for Ponderosa Pine, Red Root and Arrowleaf Balsamroot. We used the resin from the ponderosa and the red root in tea, then used the arrowleaf root in tea and the arrowleaf and red root leaves for a healing salve for burns, itches, stings, etc. (along with yarrow and plantain leaves)! This was followed by an epic 4th of July celebration!
