New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I’m Trying, Books I’m Reading, And More!
– The New Healthy & Mouth-Watering Cereal I’ve Discovered
Pinch me now. I’ve finally found a healthy cereal that tastes like the old school comfort food cereal I loved as a kid. Better yet, my boys absolutely love this stuff…they can actually read the newspaper comics and watch cartoons while eating cereal—a childhood dream, right? It’s called “Magic Spoon,” and has the flavor and texture of the cereal you grew up with. Doesn’t even get soggy in milk or taste like cardboard, like many of the other brands that have tried to do the same thing.
You can get this stuff here and code: BEN will get you free shipping on as many boxes as you want (you have to try the chocolate flavor, which is like CocoPuffs on steroids, but with NO SUGAR!). They’ve also got cinnamon (like Cinnamon Toast Crunch), fruit (like Fruity Pebbles) and frosted (just like Frosted Flakes). I’m drooling, baby. Mornings just got awesome.
– How I’m Eating Liver, Heart & Kidney…Without Cooking It
If you listened to my latest episode with Paul Saladino, then you’re well aware of the benefits of “nose-to-tail” eating and organ meat consumption to get the most potent source of nature’s multivitamin.
Liver is considered the most nutrient-rich organ of all. It is an excellent source of vitamins A, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12 (just 4 oz contains 1108% of the RDA). It also is rich in the minerals iron, phosphorous, zinc, copper and selenium.
But then there’s heart – a concentrated source of CoQ10 – important for cardiovascular health. Abundant in vitamins A, B12, folate, iron, selenium, phosphorus and zinc, heart is also the #1 food source of copper and is rich in the amino acids glycine and proline which are essential for connective tissue, joint and digestive health.
Finally, kidney is one of the best-known food sources of selenium which helps support immunity, blood flow, thyroid function, fertility, and has powerful antioxidant properties. Kidney excellent source of vitamins A, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, B12 (518% the RDI) and minerals such as phosphorus, zinc, iron, and copper.
So what if you could get all this without actually buying, prepping, chopping and cooking organ meats?
Enter Paleovalley. These folks just launched their Grass Fed Organ Complex, which contains not one but three organs from healthy, grass-fed, pasture-raised cows: liver, heart, and kidney. Swallow a handful of these bad boys and you can literally feel the lifeblood surging through your veins almost instantly.

Featured Product: Kion Bar
One of my favorite things to grab when I’m traveling, running out the door for a long hike or adventure, or when I’m just hankerin’ for a delicious chocolatey snack, is the Kion Bar.
This bar is something I formulated specifically for active individuals who need a clean, real-food source of energy on the go. It’s hypoallergenic and guilt-free, and jam-packed with a unique blend of ingredients that support energy without excess carbohydrates or artificial ingredients. Chia seeds, almonds, coconut, and cacao nibs also give it an amazing crunch and texture that’s much more satisfying to eat than the gooey mash that makes up your average energy bar.
And if you’re looking for a more “indulgent” way to eat these things, try them with a piping hot cup of coffee—or my favorite—crumbled on top of some Oatmeal Cookie Halo Top ice cream. Bon appetit!
Check out the Kion Bar, and use code: BGF10 for 10% off.

Shot a documentary today in San Diego. It’s called “Exhausted” and it’s all about adrenal fatigue. We discussed things like creatine and ATP phosphate pool exhaustion and athletes, glycogen depletion, overreaching versus overtraining, sleep, learning and memory consolidation and proper sleep hygiene, especially for athletes, females versus males in the impact on energy levels with fasting, the perfect macronutrient ratio, the myth of adrenal fatigue, and much more. Stay tuned for it to come out in a few months. I’ll be sure to send out a post from my newsletter at bengreenfieldfitness.com when it’s ready!
