New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!
My Brand New Addition To My Recovery Man-Cave
If you wander into my basement and open a super-secret door at the end of the hallway, you’ll discover my coveted, oft-used four-person Clearlight Sanctuary sauna, a giant Serenity Floats (save 15% with code: BENPOD) float tank equipped with UV, ozone, and hydrogen water—and my latest toy, a soft-shell hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or, in this case, a human-sized tube. Traditionally, HBOT has been used in clinical settings for wound healing, treating carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation, fixing altitude sickness, and even assisting with healing from conditions such as Lyme disease, head injuries, stroke, anemia, and dementia. However, HBOT can also be used to maximize performance and recovery.
For example, it can facilitate speedier return to activity after a soft tissue injury, or even the type of micro-injuries and muscle tearing that occurs during a hard workout or competition. It can also increase oxygen supply to muscles, increase ATP production, cause new capillary growth and regeneration of nerves, and even mobilize stem cells in a manner very similar to a stem cell infusion.
Although HBOT should be supervised by a medical professional your first few times—especially if you’re nervous about the slight ear-popping that occurs while messing around with pressurizing yourself with oxygen—doing your own HBOT treatment like I now do is quite simple: you simply flip on the O2 generator, climb inside the tube, zip it up from the inside, turn the decompression valve and lay back for 60-90 minutes. I’ve even slept for a full night inside the chamber and find that it knocks me out into deep sleep within about 15 minutes flat. For the full anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory response, consecutive treatments of up to 40 sessions are recommended, but I began to notice better performance and recovery after just 2-3 HBOT sessions, and notice my “blah” feeling after heavy airline travel almost instantly disappears within just one hour inside the chamber.
The model I use is the Vitaeris 320 by HBOTUSA, and you can find a clinic near you that has one or purchase one for yourself by clicking here.
A New Book I'm Reading About Revolutionary Ways To Beat Cancer
When it comes to cancer, conventional doctors are trained to treat their patients exclusively with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. These methods are grueling on the whole body, and they don't treat beyond the tumor or the cancer itself. The focus is on the disease, not the whole person, and because of this, the outcomes in conventional medicine can be bleak.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy, in her new book The Cancer Revolution, has developed a whole-person approach to treating cancer, and these treatments have helped thousands of patients through her Cancer Center for Healing. In The Cancer Revolution, Dr. Connealy shows you how to get to the root causes of cancer and the practical steps you can take to get back on the path to healing. When it comes to advanced cancer testing and biohacking or medical technologies, I had NEVER HEARD of half the stuff in this book—so no, it's not just another “go keto” or “eat greens” type of cancer book. I highly recommend this book, along with one I've recently recommended, Cancer & The New Biology Of Water by Thomas Cowan (click here to listen to my recent podcast about that one).

With the holidays upon us, so too is holiday travel. And anyone who travels as much as I do knows that an improper travel routine can wreak havoc on your body. Sooo…here’s a quick video from my most recent trip to Dubai as well as a few of my favorite travel hacks of late! (Links to more info/deeper dives on all these in my bio) 1. Deep Breathing move – kind of like a seated “Cat-Cow” exercise on the plane or in a car. 2. Hand Grip Exercises – I use the Captains of Crush Grippers from @roguefitness 3. Relaxator – I've been using this little breath training device called the “Relaxator” as a way to train my diaphragm and lungs. It's a pretty cool little device. 4. Grounding – I ground or “earth” myself as soon as I land by walking barefoot outside or sleeping on a grounding mat that night 5. Air squats – Eww…but yes! Every time I use the bathroom on the airplane I perform 20 air squats (butt's gotta touch the toilet seat or it doesn't count!). 6. Mindfold Sleep mask – This is by far my favorite sleep mask. It blocks out 100% of any light. I think it was invented for LSD and Psilocybin journeys, but those aren’t necessary while using it. :) 7. @kion Colostrum – Colostrum is a powerhouse of nutritional immunity ammunition delivered in a tasty powder you can roll around in your mouth during travel, and it suppresses appetite too. 8. @foursigmatic Reishi powder – Reishi mushrooms contain beta-glucans that help stabilize the immune system, and also put me to sleep for a power nap on the plane. I use two packets at a time when I travel. 9. Noise-canceling headphones – I avoid Bluetooth and use a pair of Bose QuietComfort wired over-the-ear headphones, typically playing @brainfmapp or my next recommendation 10.Sleepstream is a great app with tons of audio based around the concept of binaural beats crafted to remove irritating frequencies and volume inconsistencies to enhance relaxation and energy. Nifty. OK – now what are YOUR favorite ways to hack plane travel? Make sure to save this post for the next time you’re traveling, and for tons more jet lag/sleep hacking tips, read the entire sleep chapter of my new book at BoundlessBook.com
