My Morning Routine, Simplified.
Someone recently asked me for my morning routine. Here is it, in a nutshell. I hope you find it helpful, and feel free to leave your questions or your own morning routine in the comments section of this roundup!
- Wake and complete gratitude journaling while lying in bed. Do not take phone out of airplane mode.
- After journaling, go to the kitchen and drink 30 ounces of water from a glass mason jar. Into the water, place two packets or vials of Quinton hypertonic minerals OR a teaspoon of good salt, along with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 hydrogen tablets.
- Drink, then proceed outdoors into the sunshine in bare feet wearing as little as possible. Complete 10-15 minutes of stretching, foam rolling, and deep tissue work—specifically focusing on anything that feels tight or painful. During this time, feel free to listen to encouraging, spiritually enhancing music, or an audiobook or podcast, but continue to keep phone in airplane mode.
- Upon finishing stretching and breathwork, use restroom, then, if time permits, proceed to 20-30 minute sunshine walk or sauna (hot) and ice (cold) therapy (otherwise can save hot and cold for later in the day).

My Full Body Foam Roller Routine To continue with this yesterday’s meat theme, I thought I would throw in one of my favorite ways to tenderize the body and even create and maintain as my future podcast guest Joel Greene @realjoelgreene refers to in his book “Immunity Code”…YOUNG MUSCLE: foam rolling. Here’s my full-body routine that I like to incorporate at least once per week. It combines both deep tissue work and dynamic stretching such as arm and leg swings for a vigorous full body routine that will leave you feeling quite supple afterwards. In the past few hours, I’ve gone from a state of blissful ignorance to pure shock and horror. I generally avoid the negative news cycle, and haven’t read or watched a shred of news in several days, but upon seeing some rumblings on social media and hearing from several friends that there is a serious current events issue occurring right now, I felt it my responsibility to dive in a few hours ago and read up on what is happening with the current George Floyd travesty – and found it to be shocking, sad and horrific on all counts. My first thought upon seeing the violence and divisive rifts that have emerged was to reflect upon a passage in Colossians in the Bible, in which Paul the Apostle states that “…there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if anyman have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” It is my deepest desire, and will be my prayer for the hours and days going forward, that each of us – black and white, male and female, rich and poor – can set aside all hate, bitterness and violence and put on a selfless and loving spirit of forgiveness, mercy and peace. Remember that in times like these – LOVE covers all, and the very best you can do is go forth and love others with as much passion and selflessness as you can. That is my prayer for you in this disturbing hour.
