New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!
-New Amazing Meat-A-Palooza Restaurant I Just Discovered
For the past week I've been in LA recording podcasts in a lead-up to the launch of my book “Boundless.” While here, I've had a chance to try plenty of good food, but at the tippy-top of the list is “Belcampo,” (code GREENFIELD20 will save you 20%) founded by a meat lover named Anya Fernald. I had the pleasure of eating there twice, and both times had my socks knocked off by flavorful liver, heart, rib-eye, tartare, roasted carrots and (oh my freaking gosh) tallow fries.
I'm going to give you a full sneak peek at the menu and the to-die-for cocktails below. (When was the last time you had beef jerky as a garnish in a cocktail flavored with BBQ sauce?) I highly recommend the next time you're in LA, you check this place out; and, while you're at it, check out their “Meat Camp,” where you can learn meat butchery and cookery skills for yourself. Game Changers folks, eat your heart out (and here, by the way, is an excellent treatise that reflects my thoughts on the recent Game Changers documentary).Belcampo Dinner-Menu-3

::: Enter The Boundless Sweepstakes! :::
My team and I have been working hard to put the finishing touches on over 600 pages of stellar content in my new book, Boundless. It’s a big one. At one point, an editor asked me to trim it down. My answer? No way.
I have a wealth of knowledge from the trenches and the lab to share with you. I refused to limit the book so it fits better on a store shelf. That’s not why I wrote it.
I wrote it to be the most comprehensive, research-based blueprint for full-body, brain, and spirit optimization. Look for a big announcement in October with special bonuses that I’m working on.

I'm torn about tattoos. They're a wonderful form of artistic expression on one's body…but… certain ingredients in ink pigments are definitely risky. For example, red pigment often causes the most skin reactions and is considered the most dangerous because it contains cadmium, mercury or iron oxide. But you can choose a red ink with naphthol instead. For purple, you can choose Carbazole or Dioxazine for this pigment, and try to avoid manganese violet. For yellow, choose Arylide or Tumeric based pigments. For blue and green, copper phthalocyanine pigments are the safest choice, specifically Monoazo for green and sodium-based for blue. For brown, watch out for iron oxide, and for black, avoid animal-based inks that are often referred to as “India Inks" (it is better to use black ink derived from logwood and magnetite crystals). Tattoo inks will likely never be called 100%-safe, all-natural, healthy additives that are good for the human body, BUT, there are decent brands out there that are making strides to have less toxins in their ink, including @painfulpleasures. Alla Prima Tattoo Pigments, Arcane Tattoo Ink, Bloodline & Skin Candy, Eternal Ink, Inenze Tattoo Ink, Formula 51, Kuro Sumi, Mom’s Millennium Inks, Sacred Colors, and Starbrite Inks. Anyways, would you ever get a tattoo if you don't currently have one? If you already have one, what is it? And what's your take on tattoo health in general?
