New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I’m Trying, Books I’m Reading, And More!
– Optimize with Brian Johnson is an awesome website and app for reading a ton of book synopses (or listening to them). Optimize was created with the busy but intellectually curious and goal-oriented entrepreneur, parent or athlete in mind who still craves a daily “ah-ha” moment but doesn’t have time to dig into, say, Thich Naht Hahn’s latest book, or the latest must-read health book. From insightful and in-depth synopses to full masterclasses on topics ranging from making 2018 the best year ever to Spartan training 101, Optimize.Me is rich with information to make your life better. – Deep Tissue Work At Night – If you listened to my podcast “The Mystery of the 95 Year Old Track Star and What She Can Teach Us About Living Longer, Happier Lives“, then you heard about how this 95-year-old track star named Olga would wake up at night and use a wine bottle to “knead” her areas of tissue that were knotted or adhesed. I’ve actually been keeping a foam roller called a “Rumble Roller” next to my bed, and “making love” to it for just a few minutes before I climb into bed, and then also keeping an “Oh-Ball” on my bedstand at night so I can do the same if I wake during the night. Results thus far? I wake up far less stiff and sore. Give it a try!
– 3-4 Daily “Cocktails”- In an attempt to maintain more ketosis and mainline more nutrients into my body, I’m on a bit of a kick where I consume 3-4 daily hot cocktails that I blend up in my Nutribullet blender. Mushrooms, cacao, MCT oils, coffees, stevia, collagen – you name it! Here’s my favorite low-calorie, appetite-satiating blend thus far:
-2 tablespoons organic dark cacao
-8 ounces hot black coffee (I usually use swiss-water processed decaf)
-1 dropperful Omica Organics vanilla stevia
-1 scoop Keto Collagen
-1 tablespoon Pumpkin Spice Onnit emulsified MCT oil
Blend it all up and voila! Sip away during the workday.

There are just a handful of true blue zones or longevity hotspots in the world. One is Bama County, located in western China on the slopes of the Himalayas. Amongst Japan’s many islands, the people of Okinawa are also the longest-lived. Okinawa also has a secret very similar to Bama County – and in both Bama County and Okinawa medical researchers have found that key foods play a significant role in the longevity of the inhabitants.
