Listener Q&A [29:40]:

As compiled, deciphered, edited and sometimes read by Brock Armstrong, the Podcast Sidekick.

The Best “Minimalist” Exercise Plan

knralph says: I am stuck. I exercise a lot and I do CrossFit everyday plus a lot of heavy weight lifting. I spend a lot of time in the gym. I have knee pain and I know this is a waste of time. I am wondering how I can responsibly reduce the amount of exercise I do everyday and not gain weight. I eat keto and follow Paleo and Whole30 and enjoy it.

In my response, I recommend:
-My How To Look Good Naked & Live A Long Time article
-My podcast on Vasper
-My podcast on ARXFit

How Guys Can “Get It Up” Better

Marvin says: I am 30-years-old and have trouble getting an erection. I think it may because I work too much. I mostly work, lifting heavy things, I may not eat the proper foods and I party a lot and smoke. I do things that I know I shouldn't that probably affect my performance in bed. But I am hoping you can give me some pointers to enlighten my performance.

How To Calm Down After Stress

Derek says: I am an Opera Singer living in Germany. After my performances I think I have built up a lot of stress hormones and adrenalin and I am wondering what I should do to help my body process these? From all your fans in Germany: Vielen Dank!

In my response, I recommend:
-Alternate Nostril Breathing
CBD
Quick Coherence Technique
Inner Peace herbal adaptogen
Circadia device

Why So Many Products Have Caffeine

Stef says: So the Keto1 supplement has caffeine in it. It doesn't say how much caffeine though. Why do so many of these products, that are supposed to make you feel great, have caffeine in them? Of course you feel great – you're having caffeine!

In my response, I recommend:
My article on Keto1

Hi Ben, you mentioned a high intensity exercise for mitochondrial biogenesis, saying that when should do 4 to 6 rounds of 30 seconds on and four minutes of recovery. Did you mean four minutes of recovery after each 30 second set or four minutes of recovery at the end? If my heart rate gets down after a minute and a half or two minutes, not sure I understand the rationale of waiting an additional two minutes. Would love your thoughts!

    Hi Ben,

I’m not sure if it was this podcast but you mentioned some herbal formula with carminative properties to deal with SIBO. Basically herbs/plants that kill off specific strains of bacteria that produce hydrogen sulfide, methane etc.

    Please inform…

Thanks for your response and your great podcast.

Someone should have told that Japanese doctor that his diet was all wrong.

He should be eating lots of fat, no sugar, no dairy, and that white rice is likely pushing his insulinz sky high!

if only he had adopted a keto diet.. perhaps he would have lived longer and not suffered debilitating health problems from eating carbohydrates

I’m in a state where cannabis is illegal, although I like smoking high CBD strains of pot when I am on the west coast. I cannot find any reliable information on the differences between CBD from marijuana and CBD from hemp, which would be the only way to get it back east. any good references?

    Hi Ben,

What was the name of the device you mentioned to put tobacco/essential oils in? I don’t see it linked and I was interested in buying. Thanks!

    1. Top of the shownotes Kate! Everything is up there above News Flashes.

Hi Ben! First, you’re the man – thanks for the work that you do. You briefly touched on the NanoVi device. I’ve been done some research in to it and only found limited information (other than that readily available from the manufacturers). Could you please elaborate your personal experience with the device and more importantly, if you think it’s worth the investment? I’m based in LA and I have yet to find a clinic who offers the NanoVi so I haven’t been able to try it myself yet but it seems like there are nothing but “good” testimonials. Thanks!

    2. Hey Alex,

We just bought a Nanovi about a month ago from the great people at Eng3corp. I have had great energy changes and reduced inflammation in my gut, but I have been injured so I don’t have good base line numbers to compare my cycling performance pre vs post Nanovi. However, I have invited some triathletes that work out together at a local place called the Pain Cave. To come and use the Nanovi several times a week for 6 weeks and track their results. Fingers crossed that the results are good, because this thing is not cheap. :)

Hey Ben, health and fitness is my biggest hobby and obsession and your podcast seems like it was made for me and you seem to be my kindred spirit, but enough of the ass-kissing. I have an autoimmune disease that makes me hypersensitive to most foods which has made my muscle-building goals more difficult. I’d like to harness my obession while helping people achieve their goals that struggle with autoimmune disorders by starting a blog, maybe even get rolling on social media, and turn it into a business venture. If you have any tips, pointers, advice or how to network with people like yourself to form synergistic relationships I would be truly grateful.
