So he is wondering, what are the most important things to look for when you’re reading a study or looking at research to figure out whether it’s actually good research or whether you can trust the conclusions?

Fred asks: He is 66 and has always prided himself on having a low heart rate but now he has found out that he has an Atrial Fibrillation. He is wondering if he can still train/exercise with a heart that has A-Fib? Now he doesn't know when he gets out of breath if it is the fibrillation or his age or just if he is out of shape.

Lawrence asks: He does a twice daily 9 mile bicycle commute in pretty heavy traffic. The rides are often the highlight of his day and he also feels that they counteract an otherwise sedentary lifestyle. He is not afraid to ride in traffic but he is afraid of the environmental toxins that he may be exposed to during the ride. What lab tests should he get to find out if he has been exposed.     It was nice to hear from a fellow Fred, and that you were able to provide some suggestions for him to investigate. I wonder how many Freds listen to the podcast?

    As I continue my half-assed efforts with "8 Weeks to SEALFIT" at the Advanced Operator level, I love to hear every comment about your experience. You are encouraging me to sign up for Kokoro Camp… maybe never. I might try going to a buffet followed by a long workout at the beach, though. Sounds really fun. ;-) Hooyah!

    When I first heard about the problem with your satellite Internet, I was going to suggest that you travel to the International Space Station to do the podcast, which would cut the lag time in half. Of course, it's the opposite of your low-EMF home, but there's a much better view.

    Hey ben!
    It was interesting to hear you talk about the fueling strategies.
    I have an 16K running race on sunday starting at 1.00 pm.
    Usually I take breakfast at 8.00 am.
    Do you think it would be smart to do two smaller meals: one at 8.00 am and one at 11.00 am or would it be better to fast until 10.00 am and take a larger meal?
    I find this situation complex, because the race seems almost too early to take two meals before.

    1. That’s kinda up to you. Experiment with it and see if it makes a difference…BUT I would choose two smaller meals because it will allow for faster gastric emptying.

        Thanks for your answer!
        I took 1 bigger meal, which included white rice, coconut oil and some pollock (I did not have any protein powder) and finished my meal 3 hours before race start.
        My stomach felt really good under the race and I did not feel too low on energy.

    Life Hack Tip!!! -> Check it out. If you are listening to these Podcasts on Windows Media Player, "ctrl+shift+g" speeds up the play back (ctrl+shift+s will slow it down). I just listened to this 1:18 hour Podcast in less than an hour. It is totally clear. Other devices also have ways of doing it.
    It is like "speed reading" for a Podcast. :-)

      I do a similar thing on my iPod Nano with the 2x speed button. I haven't measured the difference, but it does sound faster without the "chipmunk" effect.

    Re: carb study. That study had 3 subjects. Hardly generalizable, especially to anyone with insulin resistance issues like Peter Attia
