Brain, Podcast

Your nervous system manages your entire body.

If you need to make changes in pain, range of motion, strength, coordination, speed, agility, or any other physical attribute, the fastest path to getting there is to figure out how to adjust your nervous system.

In other words, your nervous system runs the whole show.

Research has proven that the nervous system can continue to learn and adapt at any age, which means you can improve your body at any point in your life by focusing on the nervous system.

And since your nerves communicate at lightning-fast speed, if you impact the nervous system correctly, you can make nearly instantaneous changes in the body. By using the nervous system to rapidly “debug” your movement patterns, you can create extremely quick and responsive improvements in performance (plus pain relief, injury prevention, and mindset.)

Today, in my interview with Dr. Eric Cobb from Z-Health Performance Solution you're going to learn exactly how to make your nervous system unstoppable, eliminate pain and build your brain.

Dr. Eric Cobb is the founder and CEO of Z-Health Performance Solutions, a movement health and fitness company with three different educational divisions: Rehabilitation, Health Improvement and Performance Enhancement. Dr. Cobb is a chiropractic physician, professional speaker, author and nationally sought-after fitness trainer.

During this interview, Dr. Cobb and I discuss exactly how to debug, fix and strengthen your brain and neuromuscular system.

DC_HeadshotWhat is Z-Health?

Z-Health is a program that teaches the general public how to strengthen their nervous system, certifies fitness professionals, and provides books and programs to teach you how to make your nervous system stronger.

Z-Health is based around:

  • Efficient movement patterns. Movement is the fastest way to communicate with the nervous system. The movement tells your body where it is in space, how fast it is moving, and what movements are safe. By re-training and “waking up” these nerve endings, you can help your body get out of pain and perform at your true genetic potential.
  • Sensory integration training. The nervous system needs accurate information from the visual, vestibular (balance and spatial orientation), and proprioceptive (brain’s 3D map of the body in space) systems, and their integration.
  • Addressing the whole person with continuous assessment. By applying the Z-Health Model during every training session, you can be assured that you are getting EXACTLY what you need during that session. Only when joints, muscles, and other tissues are able to move in throughout full ranges of motion, pain-free, will the nervous system release the governor on your performance.

13 thoughts on “How To Make Your Nervous System Unstoppable, Eliminate Pain, and Build Your Brain.

  1. Michael says:

As a healthcare professional I am wondering what a “Chiropractic Physician” is? It sounds like someone is trying to get the public to believe he is a physician, which he is not. And what state is he credentialed in? I cannot find a DC license on any regulatory board for Dr. Cobb in any of the 50 states?

  2. Dale Gray says:

Have you ever treated any one with ALS? If so, what results did you get? I have been diagnosis with ALS and very interested.

    1. I have worked with folks with this condition before, yes – with efficacy. Obviously I'm not a doctor so I can't prescribe or offer medical advice, but if you are interested in coaching check out this link:

      1. Bob says:

With efficacy, what did you accomplish if i may ask? Would be nice with an answer, and not a link.

  3. steve says:

who was the lady Ben mentioned? Nora Goutis?

  4. Eirian says:

It’s great that things like this are getting more use in the fitness world! The specialists in this area really work more in the therapeutic realm for children with disabilities. Helping children with severe cp learn to walk, helping children with autism restore normal socialization and calm, fixing learning disabilities etc. Its truly miraculous work and easily applied for dramatic improvement for athletes.

Some of the things Dr. Cobb shares are not entirely correct about how things work reflexively and how to rank sensory systems in terms of development but his information is overall really good and a joy to listen to.

  5. Ellen Brody says:

Do you have any experience with Parkinson’s Disease?

    1. Yes, start with my interview here:… and then if you want to go into detail, I'd be happy to help you via a personal one-on-one consult. Just go to… and then choose a 20 or 60 minute consult, whichever you'd prefer. I can schedule ASAP after you get that.

  6. Dina says:

Did you do a podcast on Z Health? I can’t find it.

  7. Karine says:

I dont know if you meant to put Doc Cobb picture on this page but that is not him.

  8. ben says:

This is very interesting stuff, are there any additional articles on this topic?

  9. Michael says:

Here’s a great Z-Health example: A fellow I met, a small guy, had never pressed a 40 lb. kettlebell overhead. He tried a specific, small ankle mobility drill. He picked up the kettlebell and pressed it overhead once. Then again. Up to 4 total reps. He was flabergasted and needless to say, he signed up for the next Z-Health training available. How could an ankle mobility drill translate almost instantly into so much increased strength? It’s all in the brain, man.

I am always amazed when I watch a good Z-Health trainer. I’ve watched as an athlete struggled with a movement, like a lunge pattern. I could see the right knee failing. Instead the Z-trziner had the athlete mobilize his LEFT elbow in a very detailed way WITH his eyes looking in a specific direction. When the athlete returned to his training just a few seconds later, he moved like a different person. In just minutes, a large number of movements patterns can be improved with these techniques. And I’ve heard that the changes are lasting.

These kinds of stories are typical. And fantastic sounding. Dr. Cobb could have blown everyone’s mind, but he’s too low-key. I’ve met him. He’s a great guy and knows his stuff like nothing I’ve ever seen.

    1. That is awesome Michael. I think this stuff is fascinating…
