Welcome to my Weekly Roundup!
In one convenient post, you're about to discover the most important things I've noticed this week, including the latest news from the fronts of fitness, nutrition, health, wellness, biohacking and anti-aging research, the top photos, videos and stories from this week, upcoming events and speaking appearances, giveaways, specials and a host of other things you may have missed.
New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!
-Iliacus & Psoas. No, this is not an ancient Roman novel. Instead, it's a muscle that I've discovered that, on my body and a *whole bunch* of other folks, tends to be incredibly tight, ropy, full of adhesions and in great need of deep tissue work. I've been hitting mine every day with everything from a Pso device to a Rumble Roller use(code BEN for 15% off) to employment of a massage therapist to hit it with teeth-gritting precision. I'd recommend you begin to target your own iliacus and psoas if you have low back pain or hip mobility issues. Here's a diagram of where to find them.
-Underwater MP3 Player. After a week of teaching at the XPT course in Hawaii and Runga in Panama, I've spent a good amount of time surfing, swimming and spearfishing – all without missing a single audiobook chapter or podcast due to one of my favorite workout tools: an underwater MP3 player. I prefer the “H20 Audio” version, which is a simple iPod shuffle that has been waterproofed. If you're a water lover, you need to own one.
–The Golem & The Jinni. It's rare that I recommend fiction on my blog, but I do indeed read (and write) a fair share of it, and a new gem I've been delving into is a book entitled The Golem & The Jinni. No spoiler alert here, but if you dig both Arabic and Jewish mythology, you'll dig this one. It was recommended to me by a friend recently on this Napali coast hike.

::: Support Kale vs. Cow: The Case for Better Meat :::
There's a lot of misinformation out there demonizing meat; it's bad for the environment, bad for your health and it's unethical to eat it. Diana Rogers, host of the Sustainable Dish podcast, has a lot of questions about that. Diana has a deep knowledge of sustainable agriculture and her forthcoming film Kale vs Cow sets out to fairly answer these big questions and give us a roadmap forward. This is the film our community has been waiting for when it comes to healthy eating from animal meats. But it can’t happen without your help! Kale vs. Cow’s fundraising period runs between now and Jan. 6, and donations are crucial to its widespread success. Donations are tax deductible, and the incentives are AWESOME! I’m pledging my support, and I really hope you will too!

Rejuvenate your skin and invigorate your complexion with twelve potent, all-natural and organic ingredients that have been expertly blended to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve skin firmness and elasticity, and even skin tone. Use Kion Serum anywhere you’d like more vibrant, youthful looking skin.
We’ve searched and sourced the four corners of the planet for high quality, organic, hypo-allergenic ingredients that have been shown to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, even skin tone, rejuvenate dull skin, promote a smooth, glowing complexion and much, much more.
One of the reasons you age is because your body’s cellular defense systems deteriorate over time, and the free radicals that are produced as part of your normal metabolic processes can overwhelm your skin’s own natural antioxidant defenses. Not only do the ingredients in Kion Serum provide antioxidants, but they also may support the production of new youthful collagen and elastin, which are the key building blocks of healthy skin.
Because it is a completely natural and hypoallergenic formula, this serum can be used on all skin types, including hypersensitive skin. You can use it to completely replace your moisturizer, or you can use it alongside your other skincare products for extra effect. It also combines well with sunscreens and moisturizers for all-day protection.
Your skin serum is packaged in durable glass (not plastic!) that protects the ingredients from sunlight, heat, and oxidation. There are absolutely no toxic preservatives, endocrine disruptors or chemicals in the formulation.
