New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!

– My Favorite Thing To Combine With CBD For A Good Night Of Sleep

In a roundup a few months ago, I told you about Elemental Health's CBD, which—if I were to choose any CBD for knocking you on your ass for a solid night of sleep—is at the top of my list. But I've found that for folks who still have a hard time sleeping, it pairs quite well with Doc Parsley's Sleep Remedy, which was originally designed for the Navy SEAL warriors to help them overcome the stress and most common nutritional deficiencies that can interfere with deep, restorative sleep.

Sleep Remedy is a unique blend of ingredients that will help you fall asleep fast, get high-quality deep sleep, and stay asleep longer—all without creating addictions or dependencies and without wreaking all the damaging havoc on your body.

The product simply contains very small amounts of the nutrients involved in the production of melatonin: L-tryptophan, 5HTP, Vitamin D3, Magnesium, and a very small dose of melatonin.

Since an increase in brain GABA levels, is also a normal player in the initiation of sleep, they have also included a small amount of a GABA derivative that can cross into the brain, called “phGABA.” The quantities of each ingredient are intended to replenish normal levels of these nutrients, to allow for the normal production of melatonin, and to help initiate the initial cascade of events that lead to deep, natural sleep.

I started off at the beginning of this summer at 173 pounds and 4.7% body fat. I weighed in this morning and took these pics at 187 pounds and… You guessed it… 4.7% body fat. It’s all about consistency. To stay lean I wake up every morning and do about 30 minutes of aerobic cardio in a fasted state and always finished with 2 to 5 minutes of a cold shower or a cold soak. Every afternoon or early evening I do some kind of a full body weight training session with functional exercises or high intensity interval cardio. Sometimes a mix of both. I’ll occasionally flip-flop the “easy in the morning/hard in the evening“ if I have a very busy day or I’m traveling. When I travel, I back off the functional training and typically just hit weight machines at whatever hotel gym I am at, or do blood flow restriction training in my hotel room. In the case of busy days or travel, I wake up, “eat the frog“ and do the hard thing first. I’ve also been doing a ton of colostrum, organ meats (I simply travel with organ meat capsules), kion Aminos, @kion Lean, along with organic meat from @uswellnessmeats, fish from @wildplanetfoods, tubers, berries and raw honey, along with a cup of black coffee in the morning and a glass of organic wine at night. I combine all that with good water and minerals, grounding/earthing, sauna, cold and tons of sunlight. I’m 37 years old and my goal is to be extremely strong and hard to kill by the time I’m 40. Now that I’m done with the @Spartan race season I’m trying to pick something that will allow me to hone my skills on the field of battle. I’ve been thinking about kettlebell competition, Crossfit, and other things like that. What do you think I should do next?
